I used to think consulting was a scam too till I started working with big companies in a lot of different industries and observed how much money they spent on full-time hires for work that we completed for the client in 300 USD. Common industries being Accounting, HR, Cybersecurity and Marketing. Often in-house teams tend to have just one person working on the vertical and they hire junior employees who do not know how to achieve the target and spend a full salary on them every month because it feels more safe. What they need to be doing is finding an agency who has proven results or hire a senior employee who has proof of achieving the same results. However, the senior employee will probably cost 4 to 10x what the agency will cost.
